Municipal planning services are provided by an outside planning firm. CMX (formerly Schoor DePalma) has been retained as the municipal planning engineering company.
Initial contact with Little Egg Harbor Township concerning most planning issues should be made through the Township Administrator’s Office. The Township Administrator will discuss questions and concerns with you, open a file, and refer you to the municipal planner if necessary. In many cases the Township Administrator may be able to answer your questions or provide you information that is responsive to your inquiry without having to refer you to the municipal planner.
The Open Space and Recreation Plan was adopted on August 8, 2002.

On June 28, 2000, the New Jersey State Planning Commission granted Little Egg Harbor Township three center designations:
Tuckerton Town Center (In Little Egg Harbor and Tuckerton)
Mystic Island Town Center (In Little Egg Harbor)
Parkertown Village Center (In Little Egg Harbor).
The concept of "centers" is a key organizing principle for development and redevelopment in the state such that growth is promoted and accommodated in centers, rather than allowing growth to sprawl across farmland and open space.
Town Centers are traditional centers of commerce or government and are freestanding in terms of their economic, social and cultural functions. The Mystic Island Town Center and Tuckerton Town Center designations will permit a 70% impervious coverage limit for CAFRA regulated projects in either center. These very favorable impervious coverage limits support high-density concentrated projects in areas already developed and supported by infrastructure capable of accommodating future development.
